Abstract
This paper is concerned with constructing optimal designs for rational models which are used for modeling problems in Agriculture and other disciplines. Homoscedastic and weighted models are considered. An analytical characterization of these designs is obtained as zeros of a polynomial solution of a second order differential equation.
