Abstract
⺠We examine initial building costs of dairy cubicle barns. ⺠Total costs per m2 decrease up to about 1000 m2 or 55 cows. ⺠Higher machinery costs for AMS-barns are offset by less milking area. ⺠Complete new barns are more expensive per cow compared to rebuilt barns.
