Abstract
The packaging of plant cuttings is usually performed by manual counting. Each package contains a nominal number of cuttings. However, actual counts show a significant variability of the number of cuttings per package with the mean close to 20% above the nominal level, resulting in excessive overfilling. The proposed method for packaging of plant cuttings is based on weight control of the cuttings. The proposed method results in a significant reduction in overfilled packages which translates to increases in revenue.
