Abstract
⺠Would ETIs attack humanity preventively, before we could be a threat to them? ⺠Practical problems of interstellar preventive strike are discussed. ⺠Even simple interstellar probes could work as retaliatory deterrent. ⺠Preventive strike turns out to be a high-risk gamble for the attacker.
