Abstract

The shear modulus G(t) is one of the most important mechanical parameters of viscoelastic materials, and it is widely used in 3-dimensional stress and strain calculation and strength analysis, but it is very difficult to be obtained directly from the experiment. In this article, the feasibility and process of shear relaxation experiments were discussed, and the Arcan fixture and butterfly specimen were considered; with the modified Arcan fixture, the shear relaxation experiments of solid propellant under different temperatures were carried out. The master curve of shear relaxation modulus and the parameters of W.L.F were obtained. This new method brings forward a new way to study the viscoelastic properties of solid propellant.
