Abstract
In this paper, we focus on the launcher impact safety zone estimation and more precisely we consider the region estimation which contains 95%, 99% and 99.99% of the launcher impacts on the ground. For safety reasons, it is more and more important to estimate it with a good precision. These zones are often computed through Monte Carlo simulations but the number of required simulations is very large. We propose consequently to use the importance sampling algorithm and show that it can improve the precision of this estimation with a reduced number of simulations.
