Abstract

A mathematical model, considering the influence of source and sink, which can be used to solve the pressure of steady-state flow in a homogeneous reservoir with complex boundary conditions was presented, and solved with the boundary element method (BEM). The pressure distribution maps of the reservoirs with arbitrary shape, complex boundary conditions and impermeable barrier were drawn. By analyzing, it is seen that the no flow part on the boundary not supply energy to the producing well, so the reservoir pressure is depleted more, for this the average pressure of the reservoir with a mixed boundary is lower than the one with a complete constant pressure boundary. What is more, owing to some energy losses in transmitting around the impermeable barrier from boundary to producing well makes the average pressure lower than that the reservoir without impermeable barrier.
