Abstract
⺠Many linked sources show that Medway foreshores and subtidal channels are eroding. ⺠Mouth narrowing, mud-digging and breaching walls raise tidal volume and flow rate. ⺠Rates of sea level rise and mud loss on the low, vulnerable, foreshore are given. ⺠Various evidence shows the estuary to be ebb-dominated and losing fine sediment. ⺠Understanding long-term trend is clearly essential to wise estuary management.
