Abstract
•We conducted an experimental study of VIV on a circular flexible beam.•We determined the vortex shedding and cylinder frequencies in the lock-in.•The cylinder frequency controls the vortex shedding frequency.•The branches in the lock in are clearly delimited by the frequency response.
