Abstract
⺠DES for KVLCC2 at drift angle β=(0, 12, 30) deg explicates the vortex structures. ⺠V&V is performed using multiple grids with up to 305 M points and experimental data. ⺠β=0 nominal wake secondary vortex is resolved explaining axial velocity contour hook. ⺠β=30 instability modes are identified and the helical mode is similar to delta wings. ⺠TKE is up to 95% resolved and peaks at the separation point and in the vortex cores.
