Abstract
⺠We assume quasi-steady orifice flow through the small damage opening. ⺠Pressures for an intact heaving cylinder are used to drive the orifice flow. ⺠Predictions are compared with experimental data for a freely venting cylinder. ⺠We consider the case at full scale of a cylinder with trapped air.
