Abstract
⺠Modelling accurate, repeatable abnormal waves allows assessment of vessel response. ⺠Identified methods are NewWave, constrained NewWave and optimised sea techniques. ⺠Experimental results for identified abnormal wave models are discussed and compared. ⺠Experimental results are compared to linear and second order wave theories. ⺠The optimised sea technique most realistically models a vessel in abnormal waves
