Abstract
⺠The oscillating flow past a square arrangement of four cylinders is examined. ⺠The pitch ratios were equal to 1.5 and 1.75. ⺠Jumps in the traces of the transverse forces were detected. ⺠The reason is the switch of flow mode in two successive oscillation cycles. ⺠Mean and r.m.s. values of the hydrodynamic forces were evaluated.
