Abstract
⺠Crack is one kind of common damage in marine structures. ⺠Ultimate strength of cracked open-section boxes is investigated. ⺠The boxes are subjected to torque, compressive force or bending moment. ⺠A simple model for predicting the residual ultimate strength of boxes is proposed.
