Abstract
⺠A complete numerical scheme for simulating the ventilated partial cavity was established. ⺠A population balance approach was incorporated to simulate the dynamical effects of the bubbly flow. ⺠We examined the flow structures, gas void fraction distributions and its resultant density ratio. ⺠We provided deeper understanding of the microbubble evolution and associated effects on drag reduction.
