Abstract
⺠Flow control by rods of various sizes attached to rearward stagnation point was carry out in water channel using PIV technique. ⺠Testing here at Reynolds nos. between Re=5000 and Re=20,000, based on free stream velocity and circular cylinder diameter D=50 mm. ⺠The control rod d/D=0.3 had an outstanding effect on reducing the turbulence intensity. ⺠Strong turbulence intensity appeared within X/D=2.5 for all cases.
