Abstract
The total mass attenuation coefficients μ/ρμ/ρ, effective atomic numbers (Zeff)(Zeff) and effective electron densities (Ne)(Ne) were determined for 21 different compounds at 59.54 keV using a narrow beam good geometry set-up. The effective atomic numbers and electron densities have been determined on the basis of mixture rule using the values of total mass attenuation coefficients and compared with the calculated ones from theory. Also, the obtained values of effective atomic numbers have been compared with the ones calculated according to a different approach proposed by Hine.
