Abstract
⺠We made a statistical reassessment of global Sr-90 & Cs-137 fallout data. ⺠Generalised additive models were used to examine candidate explanatory variables. ⺠Deposition could be modelled by simple linear models using 4 latitude bands. ⺠Useful explanatory variables: rain, latitude, time (monthly values) and network. ⺠Non-linear relationship, deposition density proportional to precipitation rate raised to the power of 0.2-0.6.
