Abstract
⺠A possible method was proposed for derivation of an effect benchmark value for each taxonomic group. ⺠50% lethal doses were estimated from nuclear DNA mass in amphibian species. ⺠5% hazardous doses (HD5s) were estimated by species sensitivity distribution. ⺠Respective HD5s were 5.0 and 3.1 Gy for Anura and Caudata globally. ⺠Respective HD5s were 6.5 and 3.2 Gy for Anura and Caudata inhabiting Japan.
