Abstract
► We present an assessment methodology for a thermal analysis of a GHP. ► We show a conflict between the GHP efficiency and thermal environmental impacts. ► High pumping rates lessen thermal impacts, but can decrease efficiency of GHP. Low pumping rates optimize GHP operations, but can increase impacts to the environment.
