Abstract

The management of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the product level is a key issue for many companies. The scientific community has produced numerous references which help in determining the impact that products have on climate change, but none of these models contain detailed rules that can help organizations with the monitoring and management of single-product GHG emissions over time.Based on an analysis of the published ISO standards for GHG emissions this article offers a model with which the management and monitoring of emissions over time at the level of the individual product can be facilitated. Results show that by integrating the main ISO standards for GHG emissions, the model supports the establishment of enterprises and the management of emissions related to products throughout their life cycle.
