Abstract
⺠The Peach Orchard coal, eastern Kentucky, has high-inertinite lithologies (durain). ⺠The uppermost durain is enriched in reworked fusinite and semifusinite ⺠A durain in the middle of the coal bed is macrinite rich. ⺠The latter suggests a degradational origin of the lithology.
