Abstract
The effect of Si/Al ratios on CO2 reforming of methane was investigated. The Ni-based catalysts with Si/Al ratio = 0-90 were prepared and used for Dry Reforming of methane. Increasing Si/Al ratios resulted in the spherical crystals in SEM images vanished and the structures of zeolite deviated to the amorphous phase, as well as, the conversions of CO2 and CH4 and the H2/CO ratio decreased. These performances were well correlated with XRD patterns that showed the wider and shorter peak between 2θ = 20-30°. All samples were tested at temperatures 700, 750 and 800°C and concluded that 800 °C was proper among these temperatures. Ni/ZSM-5 catalysts with 5 wt% Ni and Si/Al molar ratio equal to 30 demonstrated the highest conversions of CO2 and CH4 and H2/CO ratio.
