Validity of the reciprocity approach for determination of surface wave motion

► Surface wave motion generated by a time-harmonic line load on the surface of a half-space is determined by the reciprocity. ► The method based on the reciprocity theorem is exceedingly simple, and gives the same result as obtained by Lamb. ► Surface waves radiated from a pressurized surface cavity are obtained. ► The analytical results show excellent agreement with the BEM results.
