► Approx. analytical expressions for harmonic amplitudes of chirp excited UCA are found. ► Maximising harmonic amplitudes improves UCA detection. ► Chirp parameters a and b should be as small as possible to increase second harmonic. ► All UCA shell parameters should be as small as possible to increase second harmonic.
