Abstract
⺠A model is developed to investigate energetic particle populations in Ganymede's magnetosphere. ⺠The characteristics of the populations over the polar cap and trapping region are determined. ⺠The moon shielding (surface absorption, flux tube sweeping, magnetic shielding) is quantified. ⺠The results are compared to Galileo observations. ⺠The reduction of the radiation dose for an orbiter is estimated.
