Abstract
In this paper we review the status of the search for high-energy neutrinos from outside the solar system and discuss the implications for the origin and propagation of cosmic rays. Connections between neutrinos and gamma-rays are also discussed.
► We discuss the different processes for production of astrophysical neutrinos. ► We compare the neutrino production to that of high energy gamma rays. ► We present the current observational limits and compare them to theoretical models and the detection rates they predict. ► We compare models for high energy gamma ray production to models of high energy neutrino production.
