Abstract
This work addresses the calculation of the total radiative power loss (RPL) of optically thin hot plasmas. General global formulas have been derived for expanding the RPL of the (n)N superconfigurations, both with and without accounting for the configuration-interaction effects, in terms of the results for a few small values of N. We present the first results for the most-populated superconfigurations of highly-charged Iron ions. It is remarkable that the configuration effects contribute for less than 3% of the total RPL value.
