Abstract
⺠Collision of a glass ball on a porous silica layer covering a basalt was studied. ⺠Sticking velocity was examined at the impact velocity from 0.1 to 80 m sâ1. ⺠The glass ball stuck on the 85% porous layer at <2.4 m sâ1. ⺠The sticking was never observed on the 80% and 70% porous layer at <2.4 m sâ1. ⺠The sub-sticking region defined by ε < 0.1 appeared at 5-70 m sâ1 for the 70% and 80% porous layer.
