Abstract
⺠Carbonaceous asteroids were the earliest habitable environments in the Solar System. ⺠Our models show that habitable conditions could have persisted for tens of Myr. ⺠However, there are indications that they were inherently unfavorable for biopoesis. ⺠Our results do not preclude habitable conditions on larger objects such as Ceres.
