Abstract
⺠We present new spectral observations in the VIS + NIR range of 24 asteroids belonging to the X-type (Tholen classification). ⺠New absorption features are detected on 11 objects, reclassified using the new spectra and the albedo values. ⺠We found that iron or pallasite meteorites are the best meteorite analogue of the observed reclassified M-type objects. ⺠C/P-type asteroids are best fit with CM meteorites, either unaltered or altered. ⺠Our mixing models shows that few percent of silicates may reproduce the 0.9 μm band seen on 4 M-type asteroids.
