Abstract
Bis [1-substituted (–NO2, –COOH, –Cl, –Br) phenyl-3,5-diphenylformazanato]nickel(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized using elemental analyses, FTIR, GC–mass spectra, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and UV–vis spectra. The electrochemical behavior, number of electrons transferred, diffusion coefficients and heterogeneous rate constants were determined using cyclic voltammetry, ultramicrodisc electrodes and chronoamperometry; possible mechanisms were proposed based on the ensuing data. A correlation between λmax and Eox1, Ered1 and ks values was investigated.
