Abstract
⺠CO2 cannot remain on Iapetus due to both sublimation and photodissociation. ⺠CO2 is only found on Iapetus in the dark terrain. ⺠CO2 was produced in the lab with a mixture of water ice and carbon grains when exposed to UV light. ⺠The CO2 extrapolated lab production rate is similar to the loss rate.
