Abstract
⺠Variability of the springtime transition is driven by wave-mean flow interactions. ⺠There is a negative correlation between the transition date and SPW1 amplitude. ⺠At easterly QBO there is positive correlation between the date and NAM index. ⺠A positive correlation between the early transition date and NAM index is found.
