Abstract
⺠Dynamical feedbacks play an important role in driving the solar stratospheric response on short timescales. ⺠Solar responses in the NH are driven by the occurrence of stratospheric warmings and their timing. ⺠As a result successive positive and negative responses are observed during the course of the winter. ⺠The solar responses are driven by changes in planetary wave propagation and final warming. ⺠Due to the non-zonal nature of SSWs the NH stratospheric response presents high regional variability.
