Abstract
ⶠNo relationship between equatorial zonal mean OLR and SSW 2003-04 and 2005-06. ⶠThese SSW events were accompanied by enhanced equatorial convection over Indonesia. ⶠHigh values of potential vorticity intrusions converge in the 90°E-150°E band. ⶠUpper tropospheric EP flux convergence at latitudes < 20°N on peak SSW days. ⶠVertical winds computed from the convergence of momentum flux are upward.
