Abstract
⺠Mass spectra for clumps, cores and stars derived using turbulent fragmentation. ⺠CMF is steep for higher mass; turnover to lower mass is sensitive to gas temperature. ⺠The CMF knee portends a characteristic temperature controlled by cooling processes. ⺠With an SFE between 5-15%, stellar mass function similar to the IMF is obtained.
