Abstract
Main statistical properties of matter density fields predicted by standard models of galaxy formation are discussed with particular emphasis on the statistical interpretation of the Harrison-Zeldovich (H-Z) tail of the matter power spectrum. The problem of sampling a Gaussian density field with H-Z tail is considered and some observational implications of these results are discussed.
