Abstract
•The majority of the Hungaria escapers become NEAs.•The Hungaria asteroids form 2.8% of the Mars impactors population.•Hungaria encounter velocities are larger than for average Earth and Venus crossers.•All the fugitives become Mars-crossers and at least 91% of them are PCAs in 100 Myr.•From our original Hungaria sample the maximum release of NEAs is after 60 My.
