Abstract
C70 two-dimensional nanosheets were first synthesized by a liquid-liquid interfacial precipitation method with isopropyl alcohol and C70-saturated toluene adding ferrocene. The typical C70 nanosheets have hexagonal shapes with ~4.6 μm in size and ~350 nm in thickness. The structure shows a monoclinic one identical to C70(ferrocene)2 bulk crystals grown from a solution with ferrocene reported previously. The monoclinic C70 nanosheets are converted to fcc ones by the evaporation of the ferrocene due to the heat-treatment, whereas the hexagonal shape and size remain almost unchanged.
