Abstract
⺠Cubic inch size Gd-based garnet transparent ceramic scintillators fabricated by gel-casting. ⺠Gallium sublimes during processing creating inhomogeneity and causing degraded performance. ⺠Optimization of processing atmosphere led to homogeneous optics with improved performance.
