Abstract
⺠A seed crystal introduced in stagnant solution induces crystal nucleation. ⺠The place at which nucleation is induced is far from the seed crystal. ⺠Since there is no convection, it is denied that crystals come from the seed crystal. ⺠A separate experiment verifies that diffusion of solute molecules induces nucleation. ⺠Induction of nucleation by diffusion may be caused by deformation of associates.
