Abstract
⺠The effect of the growth rate on the microstructure of mc-Si is studied in detail. ⺠The growth rate affects the grain shape, precipitates, and dislocations. ⺠The effect on the grain shape is restricted to the bottom region of the crystals. ⺠Precipitates are identified to be a major source of dislocation clusters.
