Abstract
⺠A disadvantage of pBN crucibles is the crucible material interacting with the melt during growth. ⺠A carbon coating system for coating pBN crucibles has been implemented. ⺠GDMS measurements show lower contamination in cc-pBN than in pBN crucibles. ⺠SEM measurements show reduced interaction between melt and crucible for cc-pBN. ⺠Devices harvested from cc-pBN crucibles behave well as radiation detectors.
