Abstract
Single crystals of Ethylenediamine Ditartrate Dihydrate (EDADTDH) [2(C4H5O6)â] [(C2H10N2)2+]·2H2O, which is organic in nature and showing non-linear optical, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties was grown by slow evaporation technique at room temperature. The crystal has been subjected to powder X-ray diffraction analysis; thermal, optical, elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectral studies. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the crystal were determined as a function of frequency at various temperature and the results are discussed. The piezoelectric, ferroelectric and I-V characteristics of the crystal have been studied and reported.
