Abstract
K3Li2Nb5O15 (KLN) is fabricated from a peroxide precursor. In the fabrication of the peroxide precursor solution, a hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution (H2O2) reacts with niobium ethoxide, potassium ethoxide, and lithium ethoxide in ethanol solution with a K:Li:Nb ratio of 3:2:5 to form the precursor solution. XRD and Raman spectra of the heat-treated powder show that the pure K3Li2Nb5O15 phase can form at a temperature as low as 500 °C. Ferroelectric KLN thin film was also fabricated from this clear precursor solution by spin coating, and it displays ferroelectric polarization hysteresis behavior. It is demonstrated that the solution is a novel precursor for KLN with the advantages of low sintering temperature and simplicity.
