Abstract
The solubility–temperature curve of zinc (II) succinate in aqueous was measured, and the bulk single crystal of zinc (II) succinate in size 7×8×2 mm3 has been successfully grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation method. As-grown crystals were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and TG/DTA analyses. The second harmonic output intensity of Zn(C4H4O4) was tested using the Kurtz and Perry method and was 6.5 times as large as KDP. UV–Vis–NIR spectrum shows excellent transmission through the visible region up to 1700 nm.
