•Magnetic properties of Ising core/shell nanocube are studied by the EFT.•Ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic cases are investigated.•Magnetization of a transverse spin-(1/2) Ising nanocube is studied.•The coercive field and remanent magnetization behaviors are investigated.
The applied magnetic field dependencies of the surface shell, core and total magnetizations of a transverse spin-12 Ising nanocube are investigated within the effective-field theory with correlations, based on the probability distribution technique, for both ferro- and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions. We have found that interfacial coupling has a strong effect on the shape and the number of hysteresis loops and also on the coercive field and remanent magnetization behaviors. Furthermore, when the temperature exceeds a critical one, the coercivities of the core, the surface shell and the system become zero.
