Abstract

Parametric generation of coupled triads of magneto-elastic waves is studied experimentally in FeBO3 single crystal under transversal electromagnetic pumping at the temperature range 77–293 K. The explosive supercritical dynamics of three wave coupling is observed when the pumping phase is modulated according to the nonlinear frequency shift of an excited magnetoelastic mode. The experimental results are in agreement with strongly nonlinear model of magneto-elastic excitations in antiferromagnets with “easy plane” magnetic anisotropy.

Research highlights► Parametric excitation of coupled magneto-elastic triads in FeBO3 under EM pumping. ► Quasi-singular pumping phase modulation to compensate nonlinear frequency shift. ► Observation of explosive instability at the temperature range 77–293 K. ► Supercritical triads excitation strongly nonlinear model of magneto-elastic dynamics.
