Abstract
We discuss the results of theoretical investigation of magnetic structure distortions arising in the magnetic field near the surface of an antiferromagnet. Both compensated and uncompensated surfaces were considered. The characteristic depth of inward penetration of these distortions in an antiferromagnet was calculated, depending on the magnetic field over the whole range of magnetic fields right up to the flip field of sublattices. The surface magnetic moment induced by the distortions was found as well.
